In collaboration with Central Saint Martins and CABI
narrative: stories of human connection with places around the earth, as we simultaneously destroy it.
Collective Earth Stories is a participatory art installation that documents the connection between humans and the earth through the physical collection / photographing of soil samples gathered globally from places that are of significance to the participants, along with stories about their connection to the place the soil was collected from.
The installation will explore the deep connection people have with the earth as we simultaneously destroy it.
It reveals geo-political issues of who earth belongs to, the limitations on moving soil and highlights the importance of soil as a carbon store in fighting climate change.
