narrative: the fabric of community
Working with a variety of participants including refugees, mothers, at-risk teenagers and the elderly, goodmakes is a social enterprise that offers textile design workshops that encourage integration, place-making, community building and friendship through shared narratives that inspire the design of the fabrics.
Our goodmakes textile designs convey the experiences of the workshop participants around a specific topic, creating uniquely beautiful fabrics that are produced and printed in the UK.
The fabrics are made into a range of products from shoulder bags for migrant teenagers starting a new school, wash-bags for refugees to store products in, tea-towels to gift to friends or to cute trousers for grandchildren.
